Would Make a Cute Board Book - "Terry Treetop and the Little Bear" e-book Review

In case you don't know, I LOVE books. I am one of those that LOVES the feel of an actual book between my hands and I enjoy the turning of the pages. But, I also like the fact that I can carry more than one book in some battery-powered device that I can take with me on the bus, or to the park, etc. From a young age my king has had that love of books also. You should see his collection so far. It's kind of impressive for a two-year-old. LOL

Making a House a Home - Glad OdorShield with Gain Product Review

If you follow me on Twitter (or Facebook or YouTube)...I'll wait while you go and follow and subscribe if you don't already, go ahead.... Good. LOL So, if you follow me on those sites you may know I do product reviews. I have done written posts on products on other sites which, if you'd like, you can check out through the "Other Sites" link in the menu bar above. But, I've had certain plans for this blog (other than "life" posts) and I thought I might as well start now to just write those reviews here. I'm going to start with these Glad OdorShield with Gain trash bags I received free from BzzAgent. Yes, I know...trash bags. I thought the same thing "woo-hoo...trash bags" (sarcasm included, of course), but hear read me out. They're neat.

One of the things that I've been loving the most about this particular campaign is that it's not just about the product, it's also about your house, or rather, what makes your house a home.

National Missing Children's Day

On May 25, 1979, six year old Etan Kalil Patz disappeared from Lower Manhattan in New York City. His disappearance helped bring about new legislation and various methods for tracking down missing children. Etan was the first child whose photograph appeared on the side of a milk carton.

In 1983, then President Ronald Reagan, declared May 25 as National Missing Children's Day. In 1998, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC)and the US's National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) introduced Global Missing Children's Network (GMCN). Every May 25, this network honors missing and abducted children while they celebrate those who have been found. There are 22 countries that participate in the GMCN. It's a database that features information and photos of missing children from around the world.

Your Path Is Still Waiting

May. Not a great month to do NaBloPoMo if I think about it now. It was such a great theme - the whole photo thing - but May is kind of not a great month for me anymore. I know, I know, it should be a GREAT month. It really isn't. I no longer look forward to May. I am now 3-0 when it comes to Mother's Day. My sister from another mister (to borrow the phrase from her) made a face. Well I didn't see it but she just texted "Hmmmm". I know her pretty well to know that that comes with a face. But I'm pretty patient now (it came with being a mom). I can wait until my son is old enough to enjoy both special days as they should be enjoyed. Yes. BOTH special days.

I've preferred for them to go unnoticed. But we can't really have that, can we? Then, after it was over, more things and more reminders kept creeping up into my mind. You know, the whole "Is this it?", "This wasn't EXACTLY what I had in mind", "I didn't struggle for this", etc. And then...then it hit me:

My Love

I've had a headache for the past few days.  I don't usually get them and when I do they go away quickly, but this time...well like I said, I've had it for the past few days.  Add to that allergies, which I'm still trying to figure out WHY considering it's been so hot lately. Combine those with feeling very tired and I let it all stop me from continuing NaBloPoMo.  I had an idea for Sunday's photo ("Your Feelings"), but wasn't able to do it.  I felt so bad, I didn't even try.  I THOUGHT about trying, but I didn't.

Monday's theme was "Your Energy".  That one I already had.  This is my phone's lockscreen.  This is my energy.  It's why I've done what I've done and haven't done what I haven't done.  It's no longer about others or me.  It's all about him:

Many Hobbies, One Passion

When I used to work I never really had time to spend on my hobbies.  The only one was reading because I'd do it while on the bus, train, on a break at work, or before bed sometimes.  When I gave birth and became a stay-at-home-mom, I thought I'd have more time for them, but little did I know about the famous "when baby naps, you nap."
Sometimes because of my projects and unexpected situations, I don't get to work on my hobbies as seriously as I'd like.  (Confession: I'd LOVE to do a couple of them for a living.)  But still, I love the times when I can just "play with my toys".

Me...and NaBloPoMo

I signed up for Blogher a while ago and my plan was to always participate in their NaBloPoMo.  But, let's be honest here...writing a post a day is kind of tough for me.  (As I'm writing now, I have my king nursing on one boob, "doorbelling" the other boob, and doing I'm-not-sure-what with some side boob.)  Luckily, May's NaBloPoMo's theme is "Photos".  Yay!  I can do this!!!  {crosses fingers}
