National Craft Month - Day 2

National Craft Month - ThatNewMommy

As I mentioned in my previous post, to celebrate National Craft Month I am going to be sharing some tutorials I've come across on the web. The first project I shared was a video tutorial on how to turn empty plastic soda bottles into rockets for your little king or queen. For National Craft Month Day 2, I am going to be sharing a simple pendant you can make using polymer clay, liquid clay, gloss, an eyepin, and some paint. Of course, you will also need something to hang the pendant from.

I love these new Disney princesses but I was born in the age of the old school ones and, although my favorite is Belle (ummm...book lover...hello?!), I love Ariel. How could I not? She's a mermaid and who has NEVER wanted to be a mermaid? I mean, come on. Madison?!?! (^ᗨ^✿) Madison was THE mermaid. She was the mermaid TO BE. Actually, I think it was BECAUSE of Madison that I watched The Little Mermaid. (Fun note: I think it was because of my dad's not-so-secret crush on Darryl Hannah that I was introduced to Madison.)

So if you haven't seen Disney's The Little Mermaid (...really?...) you know that Ariel exchanges the ability to walk on land for her voice (I know...I know (︶_︶✿) ). Well, Ursula stores Ariel's voice in a nautilus shell and in this video that's what you make out of polymer clay. It's a simple craft which actually comes out looking lovely. I may have to take some time to make one for myself.

Now I wonder if my local video store carries Splash. I would love to see it again.
